Elizabeth: We all had to answer your silly question...so now it is your turn...dogs or cats?

Louis: Dogs. I grew up with dogs. I grew up with a Beagle named Cheddar and a German Shepard named Scruffy. I have been surrounding by dogs throughout the ages.

Last year, I had to put my decade long companion to sleep, Chester, the best dog on earth.

Currently I am in a dogless state but hopefully that will change soon.

E: We all miss Chester, he was the greatest. What is your favorite comfort food?

L: I might have to go with the picada. They are super simple ingredients, just a masa tortilla with salsa and cheese.

They are significant to me too, because when I was young visiting my family in Mexico, my grandma would make picadas for me, non-stop...breakfast, lunch and dinner. The best part is that they are deep fried.

E: Yum! What led you to start and develop Media Garcia?

L: Well, just having a unique background in tech and data analysis. Really, I was looking for a way to tap into my creative side.

I burned out through my corporate job, not having the autonomy to choose what to work on and how to do it. I wanted to be able to create my own schedule and travel when I wanted. I wanted more freedom and power within my life, and corporate life did not give me that opportunity.

I really enjoy working with small businesses and how they bring communities together. I wanted to empower small businesses and help them grow. Honestly, to empower other businesses brings me the most joy in my job.

E: That is really impressive. I can see how important Media Garcia is to you and all it symbolizes. Where do you see Media Garcia going from here with our three new directors.

L: We are aiming to break down the barriers that are in the way for people’s engagement with digital information.

I am really curious to see how we can, for ourselves and our businesses, engage communities that have been historically left behind when it comes to digital advertising (web campaigns and so forth).

I am pumped about having this diverse team. We have a lot of different thoughts and unique, valuable contributions. I am excited to witness the growth of Media Garcia.

E: What is one thing you would like to share about yourself?

L: My stand for digital equity. I created a community project, called Laptops for Latinas, that aims to provide digital access for Latina’s within the Saint Paul community.

We collected eighteen laptops and raised enough money for them to be refurbished by PC’s for People, and distributed them to people within the community.

I am an urban adventurer who loves to discover new places, meet larger than life personalities, and solve complex problems. I founded and started my business, Media Garcia, as a side hustle the early 2010s and it went from a small underdog website development business to a bold and beautiful growth agency. I free time-strapped entrepreneurs by discovering the friction and pain points in their business processes and optimize and automate where needed. Grow better with less effort.
